REMICADE

Has anyone had episodes of severe itching while on Remicade?  My GI says the drug reps say it's "normal" and to take Claritin/Zyrtec etc of my choice all the time.  If I forget to take it or occasionally it doesn't last..I get so itchy!  I scratch and scratch and I know what I'm doing but I can't stop!  Once I stop I get this burning feeling where I just itched and then it itches again!  I get all hived up after it and it drives me nuts!

Yes, although neither my allergist or GI thought it was due to Remicade. I know that if I go a few days without taking Zyrtec, the itchiness comes back.

I don't get hives though--just itchiness and eczema (and I've had eczema issues well before getting UC).
