When they diagnosed me, I had small wounds all the way as far up as they got with the camera. So the whole length they could look at. At that point I was on my way to get better so the wounds were not that big any more. I had at that point already switched to vegan food a month or two ago.
Because the wound went so far up, they said I probably have Chron's disease, but when they got the biopsies checked, they said I probably have UC, but my diagnose might change later.
I was first getting Asacol. Asacol got my liver values to go high, made me completely weak, my pee brown. I could simply not continue. The doctor wrote then out Endocort. It helped pretty well in the very beginning, but then I had to take more and more, still almost no effect, it felt like. A half year went like that.
After that the doctor suggested to take medicines affecting the immune system. That was something I did not want to test as I am working in an environment were I really need a good immune system. She then suggested dialyse twice a week, but that I could not do because of my work.
The only option left was Mutaflor. I used it for some time while tapering down Endocort. At the same time about I learned about food combination and I could stop with Mutaflor too.
I still have some Mutaflor that I might take sometimes if I have been cheating too much with my diet. It might slightly help, I do not know. Mutaflor alone had at least not the same effect as my diet changes and Mutaflor has gas as a side effect.
