stubborn proctitis

hi, it's my first post in this forum. I've been lurking for a while and I like this forum so I've decided to write, although english is not my native language and it puts some difficulty for me.
I was diagnosed with UC last July and I am flaring ever since. I've got limited inflamation, just 5 cm of moderate inflamation in my rectum and the rest looks fine, just some very light inflamation.
At first I've had some urgency but my main problem is blood, and some pain, especially when sitting. I'm having 3g mesalazine orally and 3 supps of 0,5g mesalazine each daily. Supp are doing something but it seems it's not enough because my symptoms (mainly blood) sometimes start to fade but then without reason are getting worse again. It's like a wave, up and down. I think supps are helping but even in the best moments the are some traces of blood (really almost nothing sometimes but I can see it).
I know my symtoms are mild but I am becoming a mad person trying to find a pattern. I've tried some small diet adjustments but I didn't do anything radical.
I am worried about the next step in meds, i wonder if the risk of the meds are worth trying. I'm afraid it's not good to stay so many months having mesalazine without achieve remission.

You'd be best to use an enema at night and the supps during the day.

or a steroid foam during the night and the supps during the day.
