Anybody else have this type of pain

Hello, I have left sided UC for about 40 years.

Withinn the last 3 weeks I am getting a gnawing burning type pain from belly button down about 1 inch to across about 2 inch. To low for a ulcer type pain. Pain gets worse at night. Does not wake me up. When I wake up pain is gone. As day progress's pain creeps up. I always get alittle mucus with BM, but this too has increased. No blood. I tried using cortenema and wind up having even more mucus??..My gastro increased my Azulfidine from 2 tabs a day to eight. Mucus seems to have decreased abit but pain still there.
If this pain was in upper stomach I would think ulcer or gastritis..
I speak to gastro tomorrow. Could the Azulfidine be causing it.?...I was thinking of switching from azulfidine.
Anything relatively cheep out there..?...My gastro is willing to switch...

Have you switched food intake or are you taking any new supplements?
Does the pain

How long were you using the cortenema?

Consider to ask the doc for another mesalamine oral AND rectal retention enema. Always worth trying another.

So, list the foods you're eating.

Dairy (the swiss cheese sandwich) can cause issues even among non UC sufferers and I personally have problems caused by chocolates (the oxalates in them?).

I would suggest altering your diet (no cheese, no chocolate) and see if that helps.
