UC treatments and getting pregnant

I got married in June and have started to worry about if I'll ever be able to have children. I am not on many meds right now because I have been told I am "failing medical therapy" I'm worried what my next step is and how that will affect a pregnancy. If you start IV therapy are you on it forever? If I have surgery a with an eventual Jpouch will that affect ability to carry a child?

I'd rather ask real people than doctors.

As for meds, there's a link the "UC resources" sticky thread that discusses the risks of each of the different meds used to treat UC. By IV therapy, do you mean Remicade? If so, no, you don't really have to stay on it. We have some members who have used Remicade to achieve a solid remission, then went off of it and are now on other maintenance meds. Lonie, for example, is doing great now on just mesalamine.

The jpouch can reduce your fertility, making it harder to get pregnant.
