canasa and mesalamine enemas

My doctor gave me a 2 week course of hydrocortisone enemas for me to take after my sig due to my active ulcerative proctosigmoititis 30 cm. I am doing much better now, no blood, no diarrhea.
I was also taking mesalamine enemas in the am. Now that I stopped the hydrocortisone enema I am trying to wean off the mesalmaine enema and am not sure how to do this. I am so worried, I am driving myself crazy thinking I will see signs of blood.

Sometimes I have a little ache in the anus area and am concerned that that is a sign that I will see blood again, I know I should not be so anxious at every ache, but I am and don't want to stop the rectal meds too fast. Any help please, I also have canasa suppositories and wonder if I should throw those in the mix, while tapering mesalamine enemas.

I am not too confident with my present gastro doc as he seems to think I should stop all rectal meds after taper and just continue with my asacol hd 6 pills a day.

He also wanted to put me on a course of predisone after sig, but I refused and asked instead for the enemas, as I get great advise on this board, and thats how I found out about them.
