maybe 6mp kidney stones

I am wondering if 6mp gave me kidney stones. It is a possible side effect. I tried it two years ago and did not have problems, but 10 days after restarting 6mp, I had to go to the ER for kidney stones. Maybe I did not take enough water, but I think I am going to stop 6mp.

I need to find out if it could have caused stones this fast, and while I was still at the 50mg startup dose.

But, I am not a big believer in coincidence.

I really don't know about 6mp causing kidney stones. I hope someone else can answer that for you. I did however learn recently that coconut water is good at preventing them.

thanks. it does cause them. the only question was if it could cause that fast.

I will post a followup when I get information.

Ive had 4 stones in my life, and I really feel for you. But, it takes a long time to form a stone....and they are the most vile things created on the face of the earth, right behind divorce and being kicked in the groin.

It really sucks tho, I feel for you.

OK, update. The 6mp is looking less guilty.

Both primary and GI think 5 days is too fast to cause stones seen on cat-scan.

I will ask Urologist tomorrow if they concur.

I had the cat-scan because of some right-side hernia of my appendix incision. I had been wearing an elastic binder for a few weeks. It is possible I had stones (maybe linked to UC), and wearing the belt put a little pressure on my kidney and set the stones in motion.

Still, and am going to think a while before restarting 6mp.
