Thank you for all your help. Does Pred foam need to be tappered off

Hello first of all I would just like to say a big thank you for all the help and advice I have received on this forum it has been of massive wealth of information. I do not claim to have this disease as bad as some people on here but never the less I still have it and it can be really debilitating at times as I'm sure you all know.

Right I have been in flare since January and with the help of some meds from the docs Asacol and Pred foam along with all the advice given on here VSl, multivitamins a good soluble fibre powder along with a change in my diet the urgency has now subsided. I had an iron infusion a month ago and have my energy levels back as well so feeling pretty good.

However I'm still not having any hard stools. I have been using pred foam for a couple of months on and off but used it straight for 4 weeks had two days of skinny but hard stools stopped the foam for three days back to watery nothing again.

Why is this does anyone now?? I'm off to see my consultant next week but I am hearing bad things about pred foam like it can thin the colon out if used for a long period of time? do you need to tapper off of this also?

Hi I am in the UK the foam enemas are called Prednisolone. Had a few small hard stools today so looks like they may be working again hopefully used straight for 4 weeks then stopped for three days and just reverted back to where I had started. So started them again been on them 3 days now.

I'm off to see my GI on Tuesday after waiting 3mnths NHS in England for you.
