My UC couldn't be going better. Problem is a good bowel movement is the most productive part of my day. Am out of work except for a few freelance assignments. Just lost my main gig. Glad to see that under this much stress, I have perfect bowel movements! That surprises me because I thought stress would do me in as far as UC goes. The secret sauce is the nightly Rowasa enemas. Gotta love 'em

So sorry things aren't going well right now :( At least you're feeling healthy, that's the most important thing at the end of the day. Look after yourself, things will pick up soon.

It's great that you've got your health under control!! It's easy for us to still fall into depressive states because the simple fact is, living with a chronic illness is difficult, even when health issues get better it does't mean we are no longer affected emotionally/mentally...but you want to make sure it doesn't spiral either...so really, your life isn't awful, your UC is in a good place and that's great, now it's time for you to take control of what you are going to do with yourself now that your UC is no longer taking up time with frequent trips and pain...you now have an opportunity to throw yourself into what you want to fulfill your life for yourself.
Time to take charge of your life while your IBD lets you!

LOL, I have no choice at this point, I'm tired of feeling negative and want to feel good so I decided that's what I'm going to do...I think it will be funner than being negative, depressed and having anxiety, those don't do anything good from my experiences, they just make an already tough situation tougher so I'm pulling up my sleeves and diving in to get to a better place because that's where I want to be. They say that misery loves company and I no longer want to be in the presence of negativity.

Well said pb4!!
I must say that if I'm feeling like crap I don't allow myself to get out of bed until I don't feel like crap anymore Ha ha!.....sounds odd but you can do it too J2H, of course its easier if you are easily pleased like myself, I get a buzz just from
opening my curtains in the morning and seeing the sun shine, simple things really...I appreciate what I have.
Sounds like your in a good place regarding your UC, and so you just need to make sure everything else comes together for you, I am sure you can do it!

I know you love animals, why not foster a cat or dog or work voluteer at a shelter? I think you would feel a lot better if you were doing something positive, it would also give you inspiration.

NSSG, I am volunteering writing and other services to an organization that provides supportive housing to single homeless women. So I'm doing what you so wisely suggested.

That's amazing!
To be honest, my UC always seems to kick into high gear when I am working. It's like it knows it's most inconvenient and it makes my life hell.
Things will look up for you again. You will get a job - enjoy the freedom while you have it :)

Thanks everyone. They increased the dose on my antidepressant Lexapro and I feel much better, much less anxious. So all is OK for now.

Not to hijack this thread from jth, but why are you going to jail?
I guess you'd have to make sure you can get your meds.
