Rectum with burning felling

I have been using Cortifoam for about 7 days. I can say the I have leass blood. However, at first I had some itching feelings in my anus and rectum so I believed it was kind of the healing process. But now it seems to increase to a burning feeling. I looked wit the mirror and the outside area looks fine.

I guest It might also be internal hemmies cause I have experienced some constipation. But usually my hemmies are external.

Any of you have had burning feelings from the Cortifoam?

I have had irritation in the past from rectal meds, I have never used the foam. I blamed it on inflammation.

I don't recall having any burning feeling when I used Cortifoam....you should mention it to your GI.

Be sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day because 5-ASA meds can be dehydrating, especially in combination or with additional UC meds. That's probably what gives you the burning feeling; the mucosa needs to be moist at all times. I would also get a burning feeling there from too much citrus so I only drink 1/2 cup max of orange juice in one day. / Old Hat (34 yrs with left-sided UC; presently in remission taking brandname Colazal)

i had some burning in the begining when i used it because the inflammation was so bad but after a bit it went away
