I have been using Humira and imuran for 6 mo to a year, I am down to 1-4 by a day usually. However some days I still bleed. I can manage my symptoms, usually I can do things as I normally do. I'm happy Humira brought me to this point but I am sad I still bleed sometimes. I wonder if I always will and it does scare me in terms of inflammation. So I guess I am in remission because I can function and do daily activities, but I still fear I am inflamed and the risks about that.

Oh that's terrible! When was the last time you were scoped? Did you discuss the bleeding with your GI? It might be necessary to increase your Humira to weekly if you're still doing it biweekly.

You sound like you are doing ok but if you bleeding on a regular basis than you are not in remission.

I'm gonna call my gi. I think I told him before I have bleeding but I can't remember. It's not every day it's here and there I'll have it. Haha it's not remission but i can live with it.
Pb I was scoped in November maybe. At that time half my colon was inflamed. Yeah I wonder if I have to increase the injections

Chrissysoul, I wonder why your GI didn't suggest upping your Humira back when he scoped and saw you still had inflammation. Probably a good idea to let him know and see what he suggests...good luck!

Getting a flexible-sigmoidoscopy sounds advisable. Humira doses can be moved up closer together, since you show some response to it. What's your dose of imuran? It's weight-dosed and 125 to 150mgs per day is typical.

Sorry you're not in remission. Your uc symptoms are simmering, and that makes a relapse flare more likely, and it makes uc spreading in extent and severity much more likely. So, I'd talk to your gastroenterologist, get a scope done, and see if you can adjust your medications. Why settle with 1-4 bms a day, when you could be at a consistent 1 without bleeding (a true remission).

I'll see what my gi thinks. Pb we started Humira after my scope. I mean 1-4 is better than pre UC for me. But I am definitely worried about my flare starting again. I guess getting worse since it has never stopped. I'll call my gi tomorrow and see what he thinks
