A week ago I had a laparoscopic surgery that confirmed I had severe endometriosis that had covered my bowels as well. I am recovering fine except for intense cramping before and during a BM. Is there anyone out there that can relate? I have no idea if this is because of my UC or because of my bowels being messed with so much during the surgery. I'm supposed to go back to work tomorrow, but I won't be able to if I am having these pains.

It's not a cause pf your UC. Separate issue. I know of many women with endo who don't have UC.
Your periods are probably hell, and with endo, your flares could he strongly affected by periods considering how much of endoketrial tissue is around your colon.

What treatment is considered for your endo?

My husband and I are currently trying for another baby so my Dr burned it off with the laser.

I can completely relate. I have both as well and just got out of the hospital with a grapefruit size cyst...and amazingly I have no ovaries but the endo is still there. Mine is and was fused to my colon and rectum. I feel your pain! Literally!

My pain with endo is usually one sided and almost feels like trapped gas and it's worse with constipation because of the pressure. After my hysterectomy I had pain with bowel movements for a few weeks.

My obgyn and GI both agree they are connected. Both cause inflammation.

I know this thread is fairly old now but your original post above is exactly what I’m feeling today. How long did it take before the pain started to go away? I went to my doc thinking it was a flair but now I’m thinking it’s the surgical sites being stretched every time I need to have a bowel movement.
