Keep an eye on the foley, my sons was in so long it got infected.
I remember a nurse came in and gave it a quick yank, and it was out in a second.
Make sure they teach you,probably with an ostomy nurse, how to take care of the bag,
put in on correctly and to take care of the surrounding skin. Digestive juice on the
skin tends to irritate or dissolve the skin.
I cant blame the nurses for shying away from the bag, it was tuff for me to help out with my son.
Almost sounds like you are not on a dedicated GI floor where the nurses are used to bags.
