Has anyone had breast augmentation surgery with uc and being on meds? I'm just curious if the recovery was any different due to our lowered immune system thanks guys

What medications and supplements do you take? I looked in your recent post history and saw Imuran and humira. Are there others?

I'd expect slower healing with any surgery while you're on immunosuppressive medications (immunomodulators and biologics).

Some supplements are blood thinners...

Humira, imuran, synthroid, liothyronine, fluconazole once a week

I've had a few surgeries while being on Remicade. I've never had any issues. But discuss this with your Doctor.

When was the last time that your were on a steroid? They can thin your skin and make it prone to failure. I was on steroids for 6 months prior to my colectomy, my skin failed when they inflated my abdomen for Laproscopic surgery; when my skin failed they had to perform my surgery as an open surgery.

Humira and Imuran might cause you to heal a little slower but I wouldn't worry about it if your surgeon knows about it.

I have a deviated septum and I always wanted to have it fixed but I was too scared to take antibiotics. I wonder if I can do it now that i had surgery.

I've seen posts about elective procedures here before. I think I've seen a few specifically about breast augmentation in the past. Perhaps try searching.

I was always more worried about the antibiotics and a potential flare up than I was about being immune compromised. I probably should have worried about both.

Sometimes people wait until they are done having children to get breast augmentation. I guess getting pregnant and breastfeeding can cause the implants to look less perky.
