People with cancer that starts on the left side of their colon live significantly longer than those with right-side tumors...
those with left-side tumors survived for a median of 33.3 months, while those with right-side tumors survived for 19.4 months...

Wow only 33 months survival for left-sided colon cancer and less for right-sided?
I wish they were a bit more specific in the article, like how advanced the cancer was for the survival rate.

I thought colon cancer was fairly survivable if caught early and had a friend my age who had CC and had over 12" of colon cut out and that was several years ago and she's fine (non-UC person).

I saw this on the news yesterday too and I thought the same as imagardner. I was really surprised at the short survival time. One of my friend's mothers growing up had CC and she had surgery and survived. That was a long time ago too, I am sure treatments are much better now,

Me too the survival time frame was way shorter then I thought.
