What's going on? Back from ER

Whenever I've had weakness and shortness of breath, it's usually been because of severe anaemia - struggling to breathe whilst walking is a pretty classic sign. As it so happens, Imuran is capable of causing anaemia (by reducing blood cell count), but it's not going to do it in two days - if it's going to happen it would take a few weeks or months.

A severe flare-up is capable of causing weakness. After my first two hospital stays, which were almost back to back, I had trouble even walking up the stairs when I got home - that took me massively by surprise, as even with anaemia I'd not had that before. I got over it but it took a few weeks to be able to bound up the stairs again like normal.

I know that there are some on this site who want to blame literally every bad thing on medication, but sometimes it isn't the meds. Sometimes it's the disease itself or a side-effect of the disease rather than the meds. Or sometimes - shock horror - it's something else entirely and not related to either your meds or your disease. People without UC get ill and suffer from fatigue as well.

@U B Tough - I'm sorry about your latest troubles. Not got any great ideas; I just hope the Wellbutrin and Humira help.
