Need UC Friends

Hey guys. I'm a junior at UC Berkeley, and I'm feeling pretty isolated and alone lately because of my UC. It sucks. Do you know of any support groups? Healing Well is a fantastic group, but I see it as more information based than social.

Worth trying it out.

Just be prepared for the requests to volunteer, do this, do that...in otherwords...be involved. I went to one meeting in my city and lasted a few years fending off the endless expectations. Some love that type of involvement....I do not.

Let us know how it goes for you. I think it does depend on the intensity of those in the group and the general group mentality.

Hi disneygirl,

You might want to try Reddit, there are groups on there. Also, Sara Ringer and Dan Sharp, both have IBD and are advocates, they have a ton of followers on social media, a lot of them in your age group(ish) they are both on Twitter and Facebook. Dan Shatp frequently hosts IBD talks on Twitter, so you may be able to connect to people from there. Just plug in their names on Twitter or FB, you'll find them.

You're not alone, lots of people your age suffers this crap disease, you could probably find people right at your school, UC Berkley is a big school with a diverse population.
