Effects UC has on other medical conditions

I have had UC and Epilepsy for 38 yrs.
Epilepsy first, then a few months later came the UC in the early stage called "Mucus Colitis" and then, full blown UC.

My Neurologist says that both conditions effect each other.
The E was triggered by STRESS (I was an Administration manager for a dept. of the Government of Canada, very stressful).

The adrenalin (sp) that triggered the E was causing the UC.

My then GI put me on meds (Masasal (amino salicylic acid) ) which in turn, "painted" a protective coating over the stomach wall as well as my bowel.
As a result, my Epilepsy meds had difficulty breaking through the stomach lining and into the blood stream.

This meant doubling up on the E meds. Whenever I had a flare up, I would have to increase my meds again. I had to closely monitor how my body reacted during this time to ensure that my E meds didn't go Toxic, that would cause a new set of Probs.

Luckily, I haven't had a flare up in a few yrs.
