I hear different answers. Two years ago spinach was one of my favorite vegetables but more recently it seemed to be problematic. Recently I tried eating lots of spinach to get nutrient support, (lutein, zzeaxanthin, etc.) for some of problems with my eye surgery. I had to stop eating spinach because it was giving me the same UC symptoms as all the other cruciferous veggies.
I am running out of 'green' foods to eat.

Is spinach considered a cruciferous vegetable? No, according to botanists. Brassicaceae is a family of plants, Alternative Titles: Cruciferae or mustard family.

I gave up labelling foods or trying to categorize them a long time ago because it didn't work for me.
I just judge each food individually and decide "in" or "out".
What about
carrot juice instead, doesn't the old wives tale say they are good for eyes?
Maybe you ate too much of a good thing and a lesser amount would be acceptable.
I recently had a niece-in-law visit who is Iranian and she made meatballs, this type a favorite near the Caspian Sea. They have a lot of ground fresh parsley, basil and mint in the meatballs and are delicious. She said people there like to get their green vegetables this way, interesting idea.
Happier!

I don't know about
nutrition-wise...
Cruciferous vegetables are all in the cabbage family. They are called Cruciferae from "cross" because the flowers have four petals that makes them look like a cross.
