I'd focus on the now, what'd work for me now to get off of the steroids. As steroids are guaranteed temporary and longterm side effects. It's all about
risks versus benefits with chronic illness, and obtaining the best quality of life. Generally speaking, the immunomodulators have really small odds of serious side effects. The benefits far outweighs the risk. The Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America has some great statistics, if you want to dive deeper and take a closer look:
