Cold vs chronic illness

Sorry you have to deal with the infections. Colds I tend to try my best to ignore, unless I can play it up, dear wife i cannot reach the remote control from my comfy position on the couch... help.

Colds and minor infections are no big deal... except when you have them! Then it feels like the utmost in suffering and how are you ever going to get through it???

But definitely man colds are worse. It seems like they are on their death beds. Women just have to carry on, but the world grinds to a halt when it's a man. Unless maybe it's a man without a wife or mother nearby... I wonder how the single man on his own copes. They must be able to reach the remote!

Colds suck and I hate them! I still remember the ear infection and pain I had when I was 6!

Colds....well, they are never minor for me. I'm extremely miserable, sore throat, can't sleep or function without difficulty breathing, pain in sinuses and yellow or green snot....blowing every 10 minutes, drugged with everything possible, coughing, extreme ringing in my ears and headaches from hell.

I miss the point that one should believe it's a ONLY a minor issue or that man colds are worse than women colds or that they aren't serious. Thank you...to those who go out and function as though they are nothing and share them with blissful ignorance.

Sherry...take care of yourself and please don't compare for you only disappoint your expectations. Common doesn't mean it can't morph into something that could become potentially life threatening..

Oh don't worry, my wife see's through my feeble man cold attempts, calls me out on it, and tells me to get my own dang remote ;-) She's a tough cookie, and a straight-shooter who directly speaks her mind lol.

I had the added stress of preparing my daughters baby shower this past Saturday which I know didn't help. I actually started feeling poorly that very same day but I couldn't just leave the shower and see the doc or snuggle in the bed - tho I wished I could have! By that time I was coughing up green junk and blowing yellow. So I had the hubby take me to urgent care the next day and by then my ears were absolutely killing me. Fast forward to today - day 3 of the Z-pack and even tho my nose is still a bit stuffy, at least the horrible ear pain is gone but everything still sounds very muffled.

As for the man cold....when the hubby gets one suprisingly he doesn't let it stop him but he does do a lot of whining lol When he does get knocked down for the count THEN it's serious. I take pity on him then I grab the remote for him ha!
