Colonoscopy cause flare

Hey have colonoscopy next week first one ( had flex Aug last time ) just worrieodthat will bring on flare ( still get occasional blood Nichols but nothing compared to last year - was diagnosed with proctitis but undetermined colitis they were unsure if crohns or colitis hence why they want to do colonoscopy - also worried couldnthe colonoscopy cause the inflammation to spread further than what it is?

The combination of the harsh prep and the colonoscopy might temporarily make your symptoms worse for 2-3 days after the procedure, however, you should quickly stabilize and return to your normal. I'd say the odds of you getting flare from a colonoscopy are incredibly small, if it's possible at all.

Some people get worse symptoms for a while. Some have some bleeding if lots of biopsies are taken.

But IBD is not like a germ that can be spread upwards by the scope.
