I HAVE BEEN ON PREDNISONE FOR 5 DAYS THEN STOPPED TAKING IT WITH NO TAPERING .. NOW I FEEL VERY WEAK AND SHORT OF BREATH AT TIMES . I HAVE ASTHMA AND GETTING OVER A RESPRITORY INFECTION .. HOW LONG WILL THIS FEELING LAST FROM MEDICATION LAST ??

That's how I used pred to treat my asthma. It could be that it wasn't a long enough course. There have been times that I have needed 10 days, tapering over the last 5 days. The problem with pred is that it can make your cold worse.

stopping only 20mg after only 5 days is not really cold-turkey in the sense of shock to your system. but individual adrenal gland responses vary. can't imagine you should be out of sorts for more than a day

how were you feeling before you stopped the pred ?
