Today marks the 3rd yr anniversary (and my daughter's 24 th bday) of the 1st of her three surgeries to restore her life. I find myself here, because this forum helped me in some dark hours. I have tried to help others on their journeys, but when one gets healthy, it is amazing how quickly you get out of date on info and feel inadequate. And also, selfishly, I suffered exquisitely as a mother and my own pain needed a break. I do still hope this group stays vibrant and available to those needing help. The journey of my daughter (& mine) can be searched here. Thank you ole timers for every single entry. For the surgery bound, my study of one says it was the only choice and it was the right one. Today is the first day of her last year of law school, she is in love and and working out as a healthy person. The difference is life and not life. I wish you all the best on your personal quest to health.

That's incredible. I can't believe she's finishing law school so soon. Feels like it was so recently that she had surgery. I can't believe i had surgery shortly after.. I think I am coming up on 3 years pretty soon too. What a difference it has made in my life. Amazing really. best of luck to you both.

Thanks peeps. Time really has given me perspective on how very sick she was, and how the damage was physical and mental. Key takeaways are: get to the best care you can afford, and don't linger in limbo for too long. The toll is takes counts and influences your future.Best to all.
