So, my foot doctor prescribed Piroxicam to help reduce inflammation of my foot (bunion). Both he and the pharmacist indicated that it should NOT cause any problems with my colitis. So, I started taking it. I have been taking it for about a month now, with no negative impact on my colitis. I have been, and continue to be, in "remission" for awhile now.
My GI doctor recommends against this, saying it is a standard NSAID and that "30% of colitis patients" can see flairs as a result.
Given that it has been a month, am I part of the lucky 70%? I'd like to keep taking it, as it definitely reduces foot pain.
