Canasa from Canada

Hi all,

I brought a lovely Canasa coupon with me today to the pharmacy and it took the price down a whopping $250. A 30 day supply is still $850 for me. So glad I switched to an HSA plan this year (NOT). While I am definitely going back to an HRA next year where there is a separate prescription deductible, in the meantime, I am going to have to get my Canasa from Canada. I know it's called Salofalk there.

Does anyone have an online Canadian pharmacy that they recommend and trust?

There's been a number of posts over the years about using Canadian Pharmacies. Get a paper prescription from your doctor for the medication you need but you don't have to tell him/her the pharmacy you intend to use. You will need to photo/fax a copy internationally.

How does your current health insurance policy work? It it a deductible you must pay (like $700.00) afterwhich everything is free? Often it is best to just pay that deductible (which is the 1st month or two) and then use your benefits for the remainder of the year.

Sadly I have no prescription deductible. My deductible for both prescription drugs and medical care is the same one: $2700. So yeah, never doing my husband's company's HSA plan again. We only chose this plan this year because we want to start a family and it had the lowest out of pocket maximum. And of course, two weeks after the plan kicked in, I find out I need to be on expensive medication for life.

So yeah, I'd rather not spend $2700 just to have my insurance then pay 80% of the Canasa cost. I would still pay $200 out of pocket every month. Canada sounds like a good plan

On the plus side, I get one free colonoscopy a year regardless of age or reason, preventative or diagnostic. So there's that.
