New GI and update

I saw my new GI on Thursday. He spent over an hour with me. Such a night and day difference from my old GI. I had gone back up to 30 mg of Prednisone per my old GI, but had gotten worse anyway and was going 8 to 10x a day. Or should I say night. Some nights I would be up 4 or 5 times. He gave me a steroid shot, upped my dose to 40mg, but told me to take half in the morning and half at night. He ordered full stool tests, and labs, and is setting up a Dexa scan that he says should have already been done. He prescribed zofran because I have been nauseas for almost two weeks. I have not taken any yet as I have more been having the feeling of indigestion. Tonight I have had a lot more tenessmus, and have been passing nothing but gas and white globs. I have never done that before. Is that supposed to be an improvement over d and stool?

Glad you're new GI apt went well. Anything new for maintenance meds?

Tenesemus is the wost! I'd say it's a regression rather than improvement.

Makes sense the connection between Tenesmus and no stool. Silly question, but last week I was having accidents, and now this. I kind of thought Tennesmus would be an improvement over that. I have had Tenesmus before, but always very little. The Dexa scan is to have a baseline/check for side effects from steroids. He wants to be very proactive about potemtial bone loss because he has plenty of patients that end up with hip replacements later in life. He agrees that I can't risk any type of Messalamines, and feels that while Remicade is faster than Entyvio, that it's similar enough to Humira that I am more likely to react badly to it. I had about a week where I was on 40 mg before my previous doctor started tapering me that I was going only 1x a day and feeling great other that side effects. This new doc wants me back there while we give the Entyvio a bit more time to kick in. We talked about a lot, but didn't discuss 6mp. Right now he is trying to figure out if there is something else going on with me, (He said he was concerned there is) so I feel that we need to get my test results back and see if I even respond to higher steroids. I did better the day after the shot, but was right back to 10x the very next.

Ipoop, it made me feel a lot better that he was concerned about keeping on top of problems from the steroids. Still don't like being on them, but at least he is thinking ahead.
