1) Long-Time Treatment by Low-Dose N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine Enhances Proinflammatory Cytokine Expressions in LPS-Stimulated Macrophages

"These observations suggest that long-time low-dose N-acetyl-L-cysteine treatment increases expressions of proinflammatory cytokines through enhancement of kinase phosphorylation."
2) Hydrophobicity of mucosal surface and its relationship to gut barrier function.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17693944
Both N-acetyl cysteine treatment and ischemia caused a dose-dependent decrease in mucosal hydrophobicity, which significantly correlated increased gut permeability. Mucosal hydrophobicity of the intestine can be reproducibly measured, and decreases in mucosal hydrophobicity closely correlate with increased gut permeability.
This second one is of a greater concern for me.
If I remember correctly, OM, you were taking NAC (along with some other things) in your radical induction theory days. How did it affect you?
Anyone else with experiences with NAC?
