Welcome to the forum but sorry you're suffering from a stubborn proctitis flare.
Do you have Rowasa/pentasa/salofalk retention-enemas in your country? Pentasa suppository is 1-gram dosage. The enemas are typically 4-gram dosage and a little more potent as a result.
There's also steroid suppositories/enemas/foams that can help resolve the issue, for temporary usage.
Sometimes stronger medications like azathioprine are needed for Proctitis. Proctitis can be very stubborn and hard to beat. If you do need azathioprine then few have side effects from it, side effects are rare but serious when they occur. I've been on 6MP (a sister medication to azathioprine) since 2012 and have had zero side effects from it. Everyone is a little nervous when considering a new class of UC medications, and I was no different. What helped me greatly was looking at the actual risks versus benefits. The Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America has a good presentation and read on it that goes over the odds. The benefits far outweigh the risks.
