Are you a former smoker who quit and then was diagnosed with an UC? I ask as that's the situation in which nicotine has the greatest odds of improving your uc symptoms. For the rest of us, nicotine is a longshot with low odds of helping.
Nicotine in it's various delivery mechanisms (cigarettes, patches, vaping, e-cigs etc) has been taked about over the years. Some have had slight improvements, others none. Do a forum search for nicotine + uc and you'll get many results.
I'd say azathioprine is safer than nicotine which is addictive. I've been on 6MP (a sister medication to azathioprine) since 2012 without side effects.
