First time poster on this forum, though I've been reading it off and on for a while.
I've been using Rowasa enema (mesalamine rectal suspension) for my current flare, but it hasn't been working, so my GI switched me to Colocort enema (hydrocortisone solution). I'm only on the second day, so too early to tell if anything is better or worse, but I was surprised that there seemed to be NO excess fluid to be ... expelled, when I went to the toilet in the morning. It's like the entire enema is completely absorbed. Is that expected? I have had bowel movements both mornings, so it's not a matter of being backed up or anything like that.
For Rowasa, I always had some excess fluid when I went to the toilet first thing in the morning. I've done Colocort for two nights now and nothing, no excess fluid when I go to the toilet in the morning.
I'm not complaining, the excess Rowasa fluid was always a hassle and leakage worry. If this is expected, I'm going to fist pump on that improvement alone, but wanted to check with veterans.
