Iron IV feeling horrible

I got an iron IV today. I asked the nurse and it was iron sucrose 300mg. Not long after I started to get a headache and feel very tired. Now I just feel wrecked.

How long until I feel normal again and how long until the iron becomes new blood?

Ferritin is 2 hemoglobin is 90

That is how I feel after all of mine. I can never drive home because I am so out of it and then need to sleep the rest of the day. I've never had premeds so I know it is the iron making me feel like a zombie.

I am tired all the time so I have never noticed when the iron infusions take effect. I just go by my blood work. I am prone to headaches when I am anemic so if those start to lessen, that is another good sign.

This was from the Cleveland Clinic:

"When you should start to feel better depends on your particular situation. Normally, it may take from a week to a month after you start your iron supplement before you start to feel better. Continue to watch your symptoms and take note of side effects that might be caused by the supplements"
