Bad reaction to MRI prep

Hi all, another question from me! This morning I had and MRI to check for Crohns. They had me drink a lot of prep solution, gave me a glucagon shot, and did a contrast iv. After drinking the prep, my stomach was understandably bloated, but I felt fine during the procedure. A half an hour after the MRI I started to feel a bit nauseated, but that went away. After I ate lunch, I started feeling everything inside me moving and gargling, also still felt really bloated. Now there is a lot of gas, almost as if I had a colonoscopy. I am kind of alarmed by this, as the nurse told me the prep shouldn’t give me any side effects. Did anyone have a similar experience after an MRI? Does it sound like it’s is the prep that’s causing the symptoms?

Yes, I did. That prep makes you have to go. It's like taking a laxative for me. Did you get the contrast too? That's like double laxative. You're lucky you made it to lunch. I couldn't eat until after I got home because the BMs started before my procedure and I had no idea when they would end. I was so worried I would get the urge in the tube, but that 30 minutes I was OK. The moment I got out of there I was back rushing to the toilet.

Was it the barium drink? I had to do that a long time ago and I remember it not sitting well with me. I think it's probably fairly normal and you should return to normal soon.

I had such a bad reaction to it that they flagged it as an allergic reaction. I became so nauseous, every fiber of my muscles began to hurt. My neck was in pain, my entire back, my legs. It was REALLY awful.
