Also is it normal or possible to get an elevated temperature after the shot?

I don't think you have to take it with something, but some people take it in combination with other medications. As for a fever, I wouldn't think that's common. If you're not feeling better after some rest, you should see if you can get seen.

How is your UC?

A fever is weird. Some people take an antihistamine if they get itchy, dry mouth, breakouts or something else that is an allergic reaction.

Might fall under infusion-reactions, I'd ask your gasteroenteroligist about that one. How high was the fever temperature? Were you nauseous? Make sure to let them know! Might be nothing to worry about, might be, they'd know.

Try taking a tylenol and an antihistamine (claritin or benadryl) about 1/2 an hour before your simponi shot, regarding the fever. That's used for remicade to avoid infusion reactions, and simponi would be no different.

Some patients get a single dose of steroids prior to the biological to help prevent a reaction.

I remember getting that when I was on Remicade

My temperature is 99.5 and unchanged

My UC isn't better yet.
