J pouch take down coming up

Is that the same as the pouchogram? I didn't eat beforehand because mine was the day before my surgery and I had stopped eating in preparation for the procedure itself. My test wasn't bad though. It wasn't actually an enema for me. it was a little tube that they placed (didn't hurt, they used a bit of something sticky), then they filled my pouch and tilted me on a table in a few directions and took xrays. I guess it may have been an enema to some extent, but not one I administered. I had read some horror stories so I was really nervous that it was going to be messy or uncomfortable, but mine wasn't messy and it didn't hurt. it was quick and easy.

haha, sorry if it wasn't quite as easy for you as it was for me. Were you on a table that tilted around?

I am going to probably minimize the other thing too, but for me, it was also easy. It might depend where you get these tests done. The sig is not a big scope where they are in there looking around much. My check ups with my pouch have always been really fast and easy. They pretty much go in, take a look, go out - they use pediatric on me too. It has always taken a minute. I will tell you, the first one I had I wasn't too comfortable, but the ones for follow up later were much easier. Even the first one wasn't terrible.

What did they say about your scans?? Was the radiologist there? Mine told me right on the spot that things were good to go, but he kind of had to since surgery was the next day.

The tube for the pouchogram for me hurt pretty bad. They blow up a balloon in your rectum that for me actually tore my skin, I was bleeding after. Was probably the worst part for me in terms of pre surgery things.

A sig is uncomfortable but doesn't hurt bad. I wouldn't go down the route of taking any painkillers just because you're worried about short term pain, that's a recipe for getting hooked on painkillers...
