Wouldn't it be something if UC is an infection caused by Enterococcus gallinarum bacterium? I know some Crohn's research is pointing to the possibility it too is an infection but caused by MAP bacterium. Both say we're born with genetic-deficiency that's later triggered.
Yeah, there's a lot of research in vaccine development for IBD. They have a vaccine for MAP for Crohn's that's undergoing clinical studies. Qu Biologics SSI is much like a vaccine, itself, meant to retrain the immune system.
Well ask yourself what does a vaccine do?
1.) It trains the immune system on what is SHOULD be attacking.
2.) It gives the immune system easy exposure to a safe pre-killed-target, enabling development of antibodies to neutralize it. One the immune system has antibodies ready, then those are deployed against the more agile, elusive, alive pathogenic target.
