I'm a member of a Crohn's and Colitis Foundation support group on Meetup, and a few weeks ago, a University of Indianapolis student posted there looking for participants for a research study she is conducting looking into a possible association between iron content in drinking water and being diagnosed with UC or Crohn's. She told me one study had been completed on this topic years ago, but that no follow-up studies have been done. I think this must be the study she referred to that was completed in the past: https://academic.oup.com/aje/article/168/9/1065/143180. It says higher iron content in water was associated with a 21% increase in getting IBD. I just thought this was interesting, so thought I'd share.
