Well saw Plastic Surgeon yesterday and he explained what needs to be done with hernia.Hernia is up high on vertical incision,he has to slice muscle on left and right to pull muscle to front and then stitch/mesh.No lifting anything except a pencil for first 2 weeks,no lifting anything heavy for 12 weeks. Now we just have to coordinate a date that works for everyone.I'm working on a big project]10 year-$600 million project] with a fellow contractor on Long Island so have to figure out time thats best to be away from job.As far as my divorce my wife is a snake, she asked me in 1997 to be Mr Mom to my 2 kids-3rd kid in 2000.So i stopped contracting and stayed home for 16 years. She was trying to suck every $ she could from what I'm entitled to.Luckily my lawyer caught her on 3 lies and I'm walking away with a good package of $.Life is good when your honest.Whole negotiation was somewhat stressful but I'm glad its over and i can get on with my life.Nothing but good things ahead

Looks like you have a path forward, just need to figure out the dates.
I have yet to see a divorce go smoothly without any pain, especially those involving children. Glad you got as fair of a deal as is possible, everything considered.
Glad you're positive on both fronts!

Is that a wood or mechanical pencil?
Sounds like the pain in your ass has been resolved nicely.

Good that you have a plan. Sorry about
the lifting in recovery but follow it!
Awesome news about
the divorce, they stink no matter what.

Valli plastic surgeon said when I lifted up my shirt"What's that big scar from"?? He didn't know about
my surgery But my stoma was large and it's almost 5 months and I still have scab. I have feeling around wound. I sleep on my stomach so sleeping on wound can push scab and that's not fun feeling. Thank God for my friend. Project is a Downtown redevelopment by Ronkonkoma train station. Me and my guys will be doing mostly painting. I do mostly residential work which can get very slow after holidays. Friend does large commercial jobs. So we will be out there most of winter Will help me and my guys pay some bills. Stay warm up North

Started buisness with big credit card debt So $ I get from wife buying me out (can pay off debt)will get me my credit rating back to a good #. Buisness going in good direction. Just have to get health in god direction and I'm all set for all good things

Sounds like you have your head on straight and heading into a positive direction . My ex stil pays support for the 3 out of 4 so that helps it took me about
a year after selling the house and divorce to be able to pay off debt and start saving again . The price of living in Canada is not cheap our taxes are nuts and price of homes are crazy . You cannot purchase a decent home for under 800.00 in my area . I would move to the sunshine state in a heartbeat where the cost of living is more reasonable.... but being Canadian it’s a bit difficult. So I am stuck with these Canadian prices and winters lol

Valli I live in Nassau County on Long Island. Nassau County has the highest taxes of any county in USA. When I was young all moms stayed home with the kids. Cant do that anymore unless hubby works on Wall Street. There is no middle class anymore. Maybe you heard that joke that Florida is another NY Borough along with Bronx,Brooklyn,Queens,Manhattan and Staten Island Besides Florida many of my friends have moved to North or South Carolina. Taxes are 50-75% lower there. Civil service workers retire and collect there pensions down south. Nice life I quess. Agreement we worked out is my youngest will be 19 in April. I will pay support for half of what they originally wanted if daughter stays with mom. In NY u only pay support til kid is 21. Wife will have a jumbo mortage at 61 yo with no cash. I will have good chunck of cash at 60yo. So she gave here and there and I gave here and there. We had to get it settled ourselves before it went to far in court bc of cash I make and expense of going thru courts(depositions etc etc etc). IRS could end up owning house if we didn't settle things ourselves. Just have to draft papers and sign and we are done. Surgeries, divorce,it's been a hell of a year

It’s all about
giving a little and taking a little pick your battles I learned the hard way with my ex. Our property tax is about
6-7 thousand a year and the government takes half your pay when you make over 100 k which now a days is peanuts. I have a little mortgage left but no pension because I have always worked for myself . And I have saving .
But I have 4 amazing kids that are with me 24/7 two university ones and two more starting university in 2 years. And I have my health now .

The simplest battle can cost u big $ in lawyer fees so u have to think things out. Maybe lose a battle here to gain something somewhere else. I have very little in Social Security so besides buyout $ and some 401k $ from wife I will get 35% of her social security so that will help. Now there's no way I can live here and retire so I will be working til I can't move anymore which is fine with me. I also stay under her health insure til I'm 65yo so with all surgeries behind me I have piece of mind that if I have complication beyond hernia I'm covered. So it worked out well for me. Part of deal was my older 2 have $104,000 in student loans that my wife took loan out for which I never knew. She had a $78,000 IRA. So I didn't take my half of IRA so she could use towards kids tuition Wife agreed to pay my youngest ones tuition at a State school also which totals $60,000 for 4 years. I pay $ in child support for youngest. Once we close on house and I get freedom from debt I'll be happy
