Celaric I live on Long Island in New York. It's a 1 hour drive to Manhattan on a good day. My Gastro said go to a Dr in Manhattan where they do surgery each week instead of my Gastros Hospital where he said they do Colorectal surgery few times a month. Now my thinking is if I go into city then I have no visitors visiting me bc wife and kids won't drive in or take train bc it's a nightmare getting in and I'm getting divorced. Or do I have it here where more people can visit.???Well New York Presbyterian has Colorectal floor where you have your own room(Nice). NYP got my vote and it was great decision. So little traveling wasn't a big deal. Only in hospital few days so visitors didn't matter. Go where surgeons are experienced and if u get your own room that's a bonus

Totally understand.Thats a long drive, I had one of my kids drive me into Manhattan day before surgery and i stayed at hotel.Made life easier instead of going in morning of surgery and dealing with Manhattan traffic at rush hour-which is the absolute worst traffic u ever want to get stuck in.Keep us updated on your journey-good luck
