OT - Israeli scientists think they may have cure for cancer

A lot of hype. Perhaps some promise. There seems to be solid science of peptides and phages underlying. But this is still a press release form a private company trying to secure venture capital. Only mice work has been done, and years of phase I, II, and III clinical trials are ahead - yet they headline claims about "within a year" - this is clearly aimed at venture capital.

Training the immune system to attack cancer has been seen as a very promising approach. The advantage of using small peptides, and of using 3 or more, seems logical as they explain it.

BUt .... this is still a press release (not a scientific report) and the company is spending as much time getting patents on potential peptides as it is on developing the therapy.

I think they are making good progress with understanding cancers, the underlying mechanisms and are able to cure and better treat some of them. However, cancer is a broad umbrella of varieties, Heinz 57 varieties, and being able to treat 1-3 is great, but they all do need individual treatments and solutions; all are different from each other. Encouraging, and over the years they have been getting better at it, I hope for more to come!
