I think I might be flaring again... Advice needed

Hi all,

So I'm worried I'm starting a flare again having hardly got out of the previous one. I've had a rough journey since being diagnosed with uc in November 18. Got but on a standard pred taper which worked initially but my symptoms returned when I got down to about 15mg. So I got out back up on 40mg and then got stuck unable to get below 30mg without flaring.

In the meantime I tried imuran which made me sick so had to come off it. I then switched onto 6mp which has been OK although I can only take 25mg every other day and with allopurinol due to not metabolising it properly. I'm also on humira which I gave been for nearly 5 months.

Things have steadily improved for me to the point where I've been declared in remission. I've been having 1 bm every day/every other day which is normal and not many symptoms.

However suddenly in the past 3 days I have been having more pain again and my bms have gone looser. I'm worried this is the start of a flare but not sure why it would come on this suddenly when things have been great?

Im not sure what to do. I had a test to check my humira levels when I'd been on it a couple of months and my level cane back as 11. 7 but don't really know what this means. That was the level 3 days after doing the injection not before next one was due.

So I'm feeling pretty down as I can't bear to flare again any advice?

Thanks John, fingers crossed it’s just a blip then. I thought having looser stools was a sign of uc? Literally at the weekend everything was great so this really seems to have come up out of the blue.

Thanks John, I’m feeling better tonight and my husband said his bum was the same haha so hopefully something we ate but I’ll keep an eye on it. I guess it’s easy to become paranoid with this darn illness. SO is it normal to get a lot of variation?
