I live in central Mass about 1 hr east of Amherst. I had UC for 9 years until this June when I had a proctocolectomy due to high grade dysplasia. My UC did not respond to most drugs; however it did respond slightly to Enytvio. My main GI doctor (Dr. Papper) was at Reliant Medical in Worcester. Reliant has 4 GI's in their dept and they are basic clinicians. Since my UC was difficult to treat I also had a GI at Brigham and Women's Hospital. BWH has a Crohns/Colitis Center at 850 Boylston Street in Chestnut Hill just a few miles out of Boston. I saw Dr. Joshua Korzenik there. He is the Dept Head. He is very leading edge, knows what's going on with the latest studies / drug trials, is familiar with alternate therapies, and speaks and GI conferences. His recommendations helped me greatly with my UC. I believe Baystate Medical Group is a large hospital / doctor practice that covers the Amherst area.
