Mechanical damage

The problem is that there's not much the GI doc can do for me. I failed all meds. It's really prednisone and my own methods that get me into remission. I've done all the biologics I could, and the other meds I seem to be allergic to.

Also my GI doctor is really rude and aggressive. Whenever I see him he tells me that if I don't listen to him I'll die. He basically keeps telling me to just get my bowel out. This ends up scaring me and sends my nervous system into overdrive, and then my flare gets worse because of worrying.

I tried changing docs but I live in a small city and the referrals get blocked because the system shows I'm already under someone else's care. So it's been hard to get a second opinion.

So I'd really rather not see him. I'm seeing my GP today and will post an update once I do!

My GI said that due to my history of biologic failure, my chances aren't good with newer ones. Honestly, I am kind of done with the expensive, heavy duty drugs. They never really made my UC go away. All my remission periods I attained through my own methods. The problem is that it too a long time.

With any luck I won't have to wait months and months for results this time.

I don't want a colectomy.

I just had 1.5 years of remission... so I know it's possible and what it's like to live a normal life. My mistake was listening to a doctor and doing anal stretching.

This blip won't last forever. I just have to somehow deal with it. The only thing I don't know is how bad it's going to get.
