I know this sounds terrible but having a really hard time kicking this flare. I have some bowel movements that smell normal which have no blood or mucous, just diarrhea. But then there are ones that have a different awful smell. Does anyone else experience this?

I have never had c diff, but people say that the smell is horrible. Have you been tested for that?

I am going to my dr tomorrow to suggest that. But it's only once in a while, not every time, so I'm confused

I remember a smell that was something akin to a filthy barnyard, sort of like horse pucky. In any case, you'll never know for sure unless you do a stool test for it.
Have you taken any antibiotics lately? That is the usual trigger for it.

I think you'd most likely be a lot sicker if it was c diff. but ask your doctor what he or she thinks. I've had it and it was the worst gut pain of my life. I was hospitalized.

Yes I had it a couple of years ago. Lots of smelly diarrhea, pain, malaise, extreme fatigue.

I had C dif and it started just as you describe. Get it checked and use probiotics. Best of luck to you.
