Hey all - just started 2 days ago on 9MG of Budesonide and am having more gas than usual. Anyone else experience this/other side effects on the med? I know everyone says it’s supposed to have no side effects but that’s never been my experience

Budesonide oral or rectal?
What are all your other symptoms UC-wise at this point?

Oral! And just stomach discomfort and urgency from time to time, no blood or mucus

Sounds like a flare...more probably than possibly.
Why did you start it 2 days ago?

This is my second time on Uceris and it does...very little for me. It basically stops the urgency and most of the D, but none of the blood, mucus, tenesmus. And yes, I am very gassy and bloated. And it does make me crave sugar/carbs, just not as badly as prednisone.

Has anyone had good luck with this? It's my first round.

I am currently in a flare, which began in September (right after my wedding). We added Uceris oral and rectal during that time, but it didn’t help, so we switched to the dreaded pred, which also didn’t help much. Started Entyvio which has been good, but still have 2 inches of stubborn rectal inflammation, so back on the Uceris foam. Cannot say that it is helping, but it’s only two weeks in. Cortifoam was most effective for me, but it is no longer on the market, so we have to work with what we have got. Give the Uceris a little time, and perhaps add a rectal med, if you aren’t already using one. Good luck!

Gas is a flare symptom, not something caused by Uceris. If the rectals aren't strong enough then you might need to add a thiopurine like imuran, 6mp, or azathiopurine.
