Cramps and urge after steroid enema

I am having a bad flare up. Two months ago Doctor put me on mesalamine pills, mesalamine enema at night and hydrocortisone enema in the morning. At night I have no problem holding it but the mornings I still have diarrhea like twice. When I try to put the hydrocortisone enema I feel very crampy and many times it doesn’t stay for more than 2 minutes. I have this horrible urgency to go, I waste all the medicine and then I have to try again. Is this normal? Both medicine have lowered my symptoms from 2 months ago. I was bleeding like crazy and with lots of loose stool but now it’s only in the mornings for about 3-4 hours and I’m better during the day. Is this normal? The cramps after enema? I’m so depressed and so deprived with diet too. I still have no idea what kind of food is making me worse.

Thank you. I had tried using the enemy first thing in the morning or one hour after breakfast. Some days are good some days are bad. I have no idea why. Now that kids will go back to school I’m thinking about just getting the enema after I come back home. Thanks so much for responding. I didn’t know if it was normal to feel that way. Is like u setting the enema triggers a BM and sometimes there is no stool just the enema liquid. I’ll talk to my doctor about using both at night. That would work better for the busy mornings.
