Yes that does sound "strange" that he had to explain about that... (and yes, why did she do a test if she was sure she didn't have covid...)
Covid is spread mainly through aerosols, so as long as the woman kept her mask on, the risk of transmission is pretty limited (especially if she was asymptomatic). Aerosols hang around for a few hours so the room itself should be safe, it's just whether she transmitted it to the staff (and if they were boosted and wearing PPE, again the risk should be small)
I personally think they should test everyone for covid before their infusion (my sister was complaining about this yesterday...) You can never make the risk zero but this would definitely help.
