I’m a Crohn’s patient. I failed Remicade last November after being on it for 7 years. I developed an allergic reaction and had to be switched to Stelara. Started Stelara February 2023 every 4 weeks and things got worse on it. I developed a new perianal fistula, have blood loss and the pain in the terminal ileum is unbearable. I also have proctitis and keep flaring up. The only rectal med I can take is pentasa suppository as any enemas irritate my fistula.
I failed Stelara too after 7 months and will be switched to Rinvoq. Does Rinvoq control rectal inflammation? I’m flaring up nowadays and can’t even retain Pentasa suppositories and would rush to the toilet after I insert them and am really having hard times to put my symptoms under control. I asked my GI whether Rinvoq would control my rectal inflammation and he said “No”. Given that proctitis is part and parcel of UC, does Rinvoq control proctitis or not? I have no other options at the time being other than starting Rinvoq.
