Back with some data. I have UC.
I've been on strict SCD since January 1 of this year, and added sulfasalazine on top of Humira on Jan 31 after a painful arthritis flare up in my knee. I did blood work on Jan 31, 2024 and today, March 1, 2024.
My white blood cell count is normal for the first time on record (now in normal range).
My CRP is down from 20 in january to 1.94 today (now in normal range).
My Sed rate is down from 25 in january to 8 today (now in normal range).
I'm waiting on results for fecal calprotectin, but I'm feeling really happy and relieved. My inflammatory markers haven't been this low in years.
I'm not sure if the SCD diet or the sulfasalazine is the primary cause of this reduced inflammation (since I had a tapered dose schedule, and only started the full dose this week), or maybe a combination of both.
In any case, I'm so happy that my rheumatologist suggested I try it. I'm feeling better and the numbers make me so happy

I still have one symptom -- blood in stool -- but hoping the sulfasalazine will help reduce that in time.
