Enema by drip method

Hello,
When Ive been hospitalized for UC they have always provided hydrocortisone by drip enema.
I find the drip method is easy to tolerate compared with eg a foam enema.
They connect a catheter to an IV drip bag that contains hydrocortisone.
A key difference is that I can get up and move around after 30m unlike when I use foam enema.

- My question: has anyone hear heard of patients rigging this up at home?

Perhaps it would be possible with the old school liquid enema bags of one had an IV drip stand and ideally a drip machine.

Yes that's right, they take the drip iv but instead of connecting in to your bloodstream they attach a catheter to the tube. Then the catheter can be inserted in your rectum and the drip commenced... It's so slow and gentle and you absorb it really easy. It's comfortable to drip a hydrocortisone bag over a half hour or so. I guess they may take a saline bag and inject hydrocortisone into it to make the solution, not sure.

Yes I live in Cambridge, England. This is part of rescue therapy in the NHS gastro ward here (twice per day, along with regular IV steroid twice a day). I think - but not quite sure if remembering well - that this was also done in an Edinburgh Scotland ward.
